Services

Invermere Fire Rescue is equipped for structural fire suppression, road rescue, confined space rescue and over the bank rescue.

IFR currently has 2 pumper units, a 3000 gal. Tender, a quick response unit, and a rescue truck. Engine 1 is a 2006 Freightliner pumper. Engine 2 is a 1999 Freightliner pumper. The tender is a 3000 gal. 2004 International vacuum truck. The quick response is 1999 Ford F350 with 200 gal of water and is equipped for interface fires. The rescue unit is a 2010 Pierce Saber, and carries seven crewmembers. This unit replaces the old truck that was written off in a motor vehicle incident, through a fund-raising campaign run by the Lake Windermere Lions Club.

We have Holmatro rescue equipment. We are equipped and trained for rescue helicopter landing and over the bank and confined space rescue.

The latest addition is the chief's vehicle, a 2011 Dodge pickup.

Training is on-going in all aspects of these services.

As a volunteer based department we rely on donations and community support. As a token of our appreciation, we will have our sponsors names here and links to their businesses.
